Tadpoles can survive down to near-freezing temperatures, and
they may sometimes overwinter
Small tadpoles will be eaten by fish, so they're raised in a separate tank until they become large enough to not be eaten. Also, in very overgrown ponds,
tadpoles can kill goldfish
(but this almost never happens).
