- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I embarrassingly haven't read it yet (radio play downloaded)
- Alan Greenspan -- The Age of Turbulence. Greenspan is fascinating because:
- he's a republican libertarian, and especially an economic libertarian
- he's a huge fan of Ayn Rand
- he's fairly pro-civil-rights (as some libertarians are)
- he's concerned about income inequality
- he's really concerned about Social Security and especially Medicare... as a libertarian, of course he thinks Medicare will eventually have to have cuts in benefits... however, his primary argument is a moral one: that it's immoral to keep taking people's money, tell them that they'll have benefits in the future even though we know they won't, and leave them with less opportunity to plan for something else
- he thinks Hillary is "very smart" and would be a capable president (though she's not necessarily the best candidate... he'd prefer a Republican, of course)
- Peter Sagal -- The Book of Vice: Very Naughty Things (and How to Do Them) (NPR discussion)
