If I could solder an RF cable to an "internal antenna" wifi card, I would have MANY more options.
How hard is this to do though?

use a HOT soldering iron — 100watt or above
check it for shorts / open circuit afterwards — this doesn't at ALL guarantee that the cable is GOOD, it just does the bare-minimum to check that the cable isn't totally BAD
