I want relatively simple a way to keep track of GTD categories, but stored on my local thumb drive.
There are a couple of different genres:
Simple Notepad + Internal categories
Yeah, you can categories small text files in folders... but what happens when you want to skip
around quickly? That's why IDEs have a little pane showing the different files, internally.
Examples:
- TakeNote
- good
- relatively good hotkeys (at least compared to your average VB-hacked-together-in-two-days version that seems to have proliferated)
- you can bold/dim the node-NAME's text, and change its icon (to indicate that some nodes are more important than others)
- XML tree notes (open source)
- Tree Notes (proprietary)
- treepad (propritary)
