search all data within an RDMS

• The end-user application SQL Workbench/J contains this feature. Use Tools > Show Database Explorer > Search table data. [2]
  • Note that SQL Workbench/J is an entirely different product from MySQL Workbench, even though they perform similar functions. SQL Workbench/J is compatible with a long list of databases, while MySQL Workbench is compatible with only one.

  • Things I've found to speed up the "Search table data" feature:
    • enable "Server side search"
    • set Max Rows to something like 1000
