My overriding goal in learning various boot techniques is this:
The user can run an application, select among many boot-options available, choose which ones they want on their device, and click "burn" which installs those boot options on either a USB stick, or a CD/DVD. When the user first boots into it, they get a menu of all the high-level options.
There are some programs like this that exist already. I'd like to enhance them, or use some of their source code (if OSS), or learn from their ideas.
