Note that there's a big difference between "net boot" and "internet boot". The former (based on TFTP) can only work on a LAN, and is too unreliable to work much further. The latter operate over TCP (usually HTTP), and can do transcontinental boots.

(yes, the phrase "transcontinental booting" makes me tingly down there too)
