One thing that Windows is sorely lacking is the built-in ability to mount things as a loopback device. Some third-party utilities that can do this:

able to truly mount them to a virtual drive
- Microsoft Virtual CD-ROM Control Panel (iso)
- Virtual Clone Drive (iso)
- Virtual Floppy Drive (floppy .img)
only able to use the files inside the program, or to extract individual files
- Undisker (iso)
- Explore2FS (ext2fs)
