Terms to Google

This page lists things where the main barrier is just knowing what name to Google, after which you should be able to find most of the info you need.

• The product code on fruit — PLU.
• Most other product codes — UPC and GTIN.

Locks and tamper-resistant devices

• Water faucets that look like the handle is missing — Silcock key
• The hole in an elevator door — Drop key. [2]
• The black box, a little smaller than a Rubik's Cube, at the main entrance to most commercial buildings — Knox Box.
• Heavy equipment — Most earth-movers, backhoes, fork lifts, etc, use the same key based on the manufacturer. Sets of these keys are readily available to hooligans.
