pottery glossary
- cone — A method for gauging heatwork (time + temperature) inside a kiln. This is one table listing the different cone times/temperatures.
- reduction firing — Firing in a reducing atmosphere. (This is similar to using a reducing flame.)
- raku kiln — For my purposes, this usually means a kiln that's capable of firing at 800–1,000 °C (1,470–1,830 °F).
- raku pottery — A particular style of pottery developed in Japan.
