My goal is to learn the technique that surgeons use, but to use these techniques for non-surgical utilitarian purposes. Sometimes you need to tie really tiny knots in real life, ya know?
Glossary
Pieces of equipment:
📔Needle holder — Forceps, basically. Held in the dominant hand.
Tweezers — Held in the non-dominant hand.
📔Suture — The thread. Usually it comes attached to an integral surgical needle, as part of a sterile kit.
📔Thread material can be absorbable or non-absorbable, and be made of synthetic or natural materials.
5. Subcuticular suturing — 'Subcuticular' means the suture is placed entirely below the surface of the skin. This is often done to minimize how noticeable scars are.
