Simpler binding knots:
Bekki helped me tie rope around, essentially, a Christmas present box. At a high level, it was a barrel hitch (maybe that's not exactly what the knot was?), with a pass around the perimeter that prevented the four side ropes from rotating around enough that the main knot capsized.
Most of the rope-crossings were a simple turn around a standing part. The only knots that weren't were 1) the knot that secured the barrel hitch, 2) the knot that changed direction (90°) at the first-of-four side ropes (a taut-line hitch), and 3) the final knot, that secured the round-the-four-sides (any knot will do).
