Spectacular
Things that do surprising things in the presence of microwave radiation:
- various "plasmas" (ie. fire), some cooler than others
- bar soap

Calculate the speed of light
This one is more sciency, less juvenile. You can use a microwave to calulcate the speed of light. Though you can do it with a lot of different materials (marshmallows, etc), doing it with chocolate seems the tastiest.
