My policy interests

Local

• I support increased funding for disability and mental health services. <local, state, national>
• I support homeless rights.
• I oppose density zoning, which is exclusionary zoning that's used to further racial and economic segregation. In fact, I can't believe it hasn't already been outlawed at the national level.
• I support any mechanism that encourages more than two political parties, for example, proportional representation. <all levels>

State

• I support pre-populated tax returns for most taxpayers. <state, national>
• I believe felony disenfranchisement is plainly unconstitutional, and the slavery exception in the Thirteenth Amendment is wrong.
• I support equal K-12 school funding on a per-student basis, and I oppose local funding of public school districts.

National

• I support "one person, one vote", because otherwise we simply are not a democracy. [2] This may mean eliminating/bypassing the Electoral College and radically reforming the Senate.
  • The "tyranny of the majority" argument is just an excuse to enact undemocratic mechanisms. Period, full stop.
• I support full transparency for election funding. This includes spending by ostensibly independent groups, because Super PACs are sometimes able to coordinate [2] with their candidates. (for example, the practice of "redboxing")
  • I mean, I explicitly oppose the Citizens United ruling as well, because rich individuals and rich organizations have numerous ways to tilt the playing field in their favor, and at a much higher perspective, wealth inequality has numerous negative outcomes. But full transparency is a good place to start.
• In general, I oppose anything that promotes massive wealth inequality, although, honestly, I'm kind of accelerationist about that. (though, with less awareness of the problem, it's not clear when accelerationism could happen)
  • I think that the focus should be on wealth inequality instead of income inequality because of extreme racial wealth gaps.
• I support statehood for all occupied US territories.

International

• I support nuclear power as a replacement for fossil fuels, at least until grid-scale energy storage becomes more economically viable.
