The diagrams inside The Marlinspike Sailor are friggin' outstanding. They're some of the highest-quality hand-drawn 2D diagrams I've seen.
The illustrator is Hervey Garrett Smith, who also illustrated Boat Carpentry, The Small Boat Sailor’s Bible, and The Arts of the Sailor.
These are pretty nice 2D diagrams.
